It usually isn't — it is that the mistakes that cost you games at 2000 are invisible from inside them.
The 1800-2100 stretch is where most players stall for an entire season. Opponents stop making free mistakes, so games are decided by setup and cooldown trading rather than mechanics. That is a learnable skill, and it is very hard to learn alone.

Why playing alongside someone better actually raises your rating
Not because a better player carries the games. Because for a few hours you get the thing you have never had: someone who can see the mistake at the moment you make it, and tell you before the consequence arrives. Three things change in those games.

Comp coordination
Most losses below 2100 are not mechanical — they are two people pressing good buttons at different times. Playing with someone who knows the matchup means your cooldowns get spent together, on purpose, in a window that was set up rather than hoped for.

Target calling
Knowing who to kill and when is the single largest gap between ratings. Your coach makes that call out loud, every game, with the reason attached — which enemy defensive is down, which healer is out of position — until you start making it before they do.

Positioning, corrected live
Where you stand decides most games before a cooldown is pressed. Being told "you are too far from the pillar" as it is happening teaches something that watching a VOD a week later never does, because you feel the consequence in the same game.
That is the whole mechanism, and it is why the rating tends to stay after the sessions end. You are not renting a result — you are being shown the specific things costing you games, in your games, on your character.

Questions people actually ask
- Is this against Blizzard's rules?
- Here is the straight answer rather than the comfortable one. Boosting as an industry sits in a grey area of Blizzard's Terms of Service, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can be precise about is where the actual account risk lives: account sharing. Handing your login to a stranger breaches the Terms of Service explicitly, and it is what account closures in this space are overwhelmingly based on — logins from a new country, a new machine, at hours you have never played. Selfplay coaching involves none of that. Nobody signs in as you, your credentials never change hands, and there is no session on your account that you did not create. You are playing your own games with a skilled player in your group and a voice call open, which is not meaningfully different from queueing with a good friend.
- Do you need my login?
- No. Never. We do not ask for your password, your Battle.net email, an authenticator code, or a recovery question, and there is no part of the process where you would need to provide one. If anyone contacts you claiming to be from GladBoss and asks for account details, it is not us — close the conversation and tell us. This is the one thing about the service that has no exceptions.
- What if I don't reach 2100?
- You are buying coaching hours, not a rating outcome, and we would rather be clear about that up front than sell you a guarantee with conditions buried in it. Arena is competitive and nobody controls the ladder. What each session does give you is time queued alongside a player well above your rating, with your mistakes called out as they happen. If a session goes badly you still finish it knowing why, which is the part that carries into the games you play without us. If you feel a session was not delivered as described, contact us with your order number and we will sort it out.
- How does scheduling work?
- Because you play your own account, we work around your calendar rather than the other way round — there is no window where someone else needs access to your character. After checkout you get a private order page where you propose the times that suit you, your coach confirms or offers alternatives, and you both see the agreed slots in your own time zone. You need to be at your keyboard for your sessions, which is the trade-off of selfplay: it is your account and your games, so it happens when you are there.
- How many hours does 2100 usually take?
- It depends on where you are starting and how much of the gap is knowledge rather than mechanics — anyone quoting you a fixed number without knowing your rating, your class or your comp is guessing. The hour presets on this page are the common starting points for this bracket, and you can book fewer and add more later. Your coach will give you a realistic read after the first session, when they have actually seen you play.
